Friday!

It's finally Friday! It's been a week of appointments and phone calls with doctors and errand running, but it's been a good week all the same!

Dylan's POTS has been out of control for the last few month so we've spent the last week talking with his cardiologist and adjusting meds. Over the weekend his blood pressure was so low he was very weak and having trouble getting around. It looked like this more often than not!
His ideal blood pressure is much closer to 115/75, so he was feeling it! Dr. B started by upping one of his meds to twice a day, which totally helped the blood pressure and standing tachycardia, but he was still having exaggerated tachycardia when he walked so he also added another med to take in the morning, and 2 supplements, CoQ10 and L-Carnitine. These two supplements were instrumental in getting a little better handle on Ali's tachycardia. He is now on the same medicines she's on for her POTS, and we are truly hoping to see a long lasting difference. Fingers crossed!

Monday he had PT and it went great. His Physical Therapist has a student for the next 4 weeks and he hit it off with Dylan pretty quickly. He has experience working with kids on the spectrum, so that makes things easier. Here he is getting a nicely disguised ab workout. It's so much easier to get him to work hard when he doesn't know he's working hard! Lots of laughs at PT! Love them! PT has truly been the best thing for him.

Wednesday we had to make a quick trip to the dentist because Ali had a tooth that was uneven after some work she's had done over the last several weeks. ANNND then the best part of the week happened because Eric got home! It's always a  LONG day because he drives all the way through from Louisiana and gets in around 2 a.m., but it's so nice when he gets here. The dogs literally lose it EVERY TIME and Isabel goes back to sleeping on my pillow like she was a puppy again :)

Yesterday was infusion day! Thank goodness because Ali started feeling yuck on Tuesday. I'm thinking the infusions may need to go up to twice a week, but we'll see. The nurse is also having trouble accessing Ali's veins. It took 6 attempts to get a patent IV this time because they kept collapsing and blowing. We're beginning to have the central line discussion, and I guess we'll see where things go.

We're hoping to get some yard work done this afternoon and over the weekend. We have some herbs we want to get planted and w're working on filling in some holes in the yard and evening it out. Our dogs are diggers unfortunately. Maybe we'll have a nice fire tonight or tomorrow night since we have some wood that needs to be burned.

All in all it's been a good week over here. Got to make a quick Aldi run Wednesday with Stacey and Mom, Dylan only had to come home early one day and didn't miss any days of school, and Eric's home. I'm so thankful for that! I hope you guys have had a great week! Enjoy your weekend, you deserve it <3

Courtney Day

Today I took a mom day. And by mom day I mean a Courtney day because for the majority of the day I wasn't mom at all! The antique fest...
